The team from Portugal got the best overall result in this year's International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) with 123 points. The team members were David Martins (year 12, Mirandela), Francisco Andrade (year 11, Matosinhos), Henrique Aguiar (year 11, Aveiro), Henrique Santos (year 11, Coimbra), Miguel Moreira (year 12, Lisboa) and Nuno Santos (year 11, Porto). They were prepared and selected by the Escola Delfos of the University of Coimbra. Miguel Moreira and David Martins were awarded silver medals. Francisco Andrade, Henrique Aguiar and Nuno Santos earned bronze medals.
This year's IMO took place in Cape Town, South Africa, July 3-13.
