I will discuss the creation and the first year of existence of the french Agency for Mathematics in Interaction with Enterprises and Society (AMIES) [1]. First I start with the context in which the agency was funded then I present the organisation, its objectives and the tools it provides to the mathematics community to help with interacting with enterprises. I present along the presentation some effective collaborations and events that AMIES supports.
